        Dr. Greg Jackson, Shidoshi

                           5th Dan

Greg Jackson has almost 20 years of martial arts experience.  He began training in Wing Chun Kung Fu in 1993 under George Turner.  George and I met in 1990 at Northeast High in marching band and we became great friends.  Greg first approached him about training after reading an article in Percussive Notes about the one inch punch and using that same concept for drumming.  He asked George to demonstrate in an effort to become a better percussionist, but was hooked after the first day.  Greg tried karate for a few months as a kid, but never developed a passion for it like he for did kung fu.  In 1995 Greg also started training in Jeet Kune Do.

In 2004, Jackson began training in Bujinkan under Shidoshi Eric Young.  After Eric took a hiatus, Shidoshi Arlando Sanders took over the Tuscaloosa dojo branch of Bujinkan Taka Seigi Dojo.  In 2007, Greg moved to Montgomery, AL and began training under long time friend and Shidoshi Jim Hilgartner.

In January 2008 Greg began traveling to Atlanta, GA several times a month and became a student of Shihan Scott Earley.  In February of 2008, he was promoted to Shodan Black Belt.

A year later Greg received another promotion to Nidan, followed by another promotion in November of that year to Sandan.  In June, Jackson was promoted to Yondan.

On July 10th, 2011 Greg passed the sakki test given by Shihan Phil Legare and is currently a Godan, 5th degree black belt.

Greg travels extensively around the country to train with the top Shihan in the Bujinkan and studies DVDs of Soke Hatsumi and his books daily along with other major books of stategy.

Shihan Scott Earley       14th Dan

Shihan Scott Earley has been training and studying in the Bujinkan since 1984. He began the Bujinkan GA Dojo is 1995 and continues to teach weekly to adults, elementary and middle school kids and preschoolers. He is an outdoor enthusiast who really enjoys the quality of training that the woods and forests have to offer.

Shihan Earley is employed as the Director of Contemporary Music, the Director of Children's Music and the Director of Preschool Music and Movement at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody GA. Outside of training and work, he spends every free moment with his twin boys.

I first met Shihan Earley in April, 2005.  We quickly became friends and I decided to make the trips to Atlanta train under him as my direct teacher in January 2008.
